Gobi 65( Dry and wet) version (Gobi Manchuria) 

Ingredients required :

1 large Cauliflower

1 tsp red chilli paste

6 tbs cornflour

5 tbs all purpose flour (Maida)

1/2 tsp garam masala

1/2tsp pepper powder

1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

1  sprig Curry leaves

Salt as per taste

Oil for frying


1)Boil some water in a  saucepan.Once  the water boils turn of the flame and  add cauliflower florets and blanch them for a minute and remove them from water.

For Batter:

Add Corn flour, All purpose flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli paste,garam masala,pepper powder,salt and curry leaves. Mix them very well and add water to make a smooth batter.


Once the batter is ready, heat the oil and check the oil whether it’s hot by dropping a cauliflower floret dipped in batter.

Dip the florets in batter and drop them in oil and fry them till they are done

I made the dry gobi 65.

You can make wet version.

The ingredients required for wet version :

1tsp oil

Half a onion (medium sized) cut them as desired.

2-3 garlic cloves diced

1 tsp of ginger( cut them into julliens)

1tbsp of light soy sauce

1tsp of red chilli paste/ powder

1tsp diced green chilli

Take a wok/ wide pan add oil, once the oil is hot add onions, chilli, garlic, ginger, saute them for a minute add soy sauce, red chilli paste / powder and stir immediately.Add the gobi and stir them.

Serve hot with slice of lemon on the side.


You can add food color to the batter, if you want color.I did not use color instead I used red chilli paste for a natural color from it.

In the same way, you can make Mushroom 65.
