Caramel  creme or Caramel custard

Ingredients :

Milk – 1 -1/2 cup

Castor sugar – 3/4 cup

Egg yolks – 3 

Whole egg -1

Water -2 tbsp 

Vanilla extract -1/2 tsp 

Granulated sugar/ castor sugar for Caramel – 3 tbsp

Ramekins-4 

Hot water – 1 cup

Method :

Set the oven to  preheat at 350 F.

In a mixing bowl, add 3 egg yolks and 1 full egg, add sugar, and whisk them for a while until the sugar is melted. 

Add milk into the egg mixture and whisk it for a while.




Meanwhile in the other pan, on a stove top add 3 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp Water, and brush the sides of the pan continously with water on sides to get the perfect Caramel. 

Once the sugar melts and turns into golden brown color.
Turn off the flame, and pour the Caramel into ramekins and let them cool for sometime.

Using a strainer, pour the milk – egg mixture into the ramekins, and place them in a pan with hot water bath.

Bake them in the oven at 350F for at least 30 -35 minutes or until they are done.
Once they are out of oven, place them in the refrigerator and let them sit for 2 hours and set.
Using a knife on the corners of ramekins and place it in a dessert plate and turn them around.




Serve it chill.
